    Grownups: A Fun Family Comedy
How much fun can one movie be?

    Student Reporter
BOISE, Idaho – Everyone loves to have a good laugh every once in a while and the best way to do that sometimes is with a good comedy movie. There are some that may be adult only and some that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Is this a movie that can be loved and viewed by all ages?
"Grownups" is one of the newer movies that has been released. It stars Rob Schneider, Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock and Adam Sandler as the main characters. These are some of the most well-known movie and television comedians there are out there.
Some would consider their comedy funny and some would consider it offensive. This movie does a nice job of mixing in adult comedy but also making it fun for children.
If you like a good movie with lots of laughs and somewhat stupid activities you can laugh at this would probably be your best choice when looking at new releases. If you don’t want to have to explain some of the innuendoes that may be picked out by your children then it probably isn’t the best movie to take your kids to.
One of the best parts of the movie happens in about the first third of the movie while they are eating dinner at a restaurant after the funeral of their basketball coach. The character played by David Spade says, “Remember when we used to come here in high school and get wasted.”
When this happened it generated a conversation between the adults and the children about what it meant to get wasted. One of the kids asked what it meant to get wasted. The character played by Adam Sandler described it by saying, “Wasted is when you get a craving for ice cream.” All of the children then responded by saying, “I want to get wasted, and I want to get wasted every day.” The daughter of Adam Sandler’s character said, “I want to get chocolate wasted.”
This is just a small example of what you will find when watching this movie. The movie is rated PG-13, meaning parental guidance is suggested for anyone watching under the age of 13, and it runs approximately 102 minutes which is an hour and 42 minutes.
This is a great film for all ages to enjoy. It is available on DVD and Blu-Ray and can also be found through the Netflix DVD list and also on the instant list that can be played through a Nintendo Wii console.

  2. THE DARK KNIGHT, Best superhero movie ever?
    By: Aaron Nelson/student reporter
    The Dark Knight was considered
Of the best movies of the year, and
    Received 3 Oscar nominations, with
    Heath ledger winning best supporting
    Actor.

In Boise Idaho the Dark Knight was released July 25th and every theater was sold out in anticipation for its release.

The Dark Knight is the sequel to Batman Begins, which was a restart of the Batman franchise, when the Dark Knight was done being in theaters, it had made over 750 million dollars and was the second most grossing movie ever.

The Dark Knight was written and directed by Christopher Nolan, and stared Christian Bale as Batman. Michael Cane as Alfred the butler, Morgan Freeman as Lucas Fox ,as the gadget engineer. Also Erin Burkhart played the role of two face and Harvey Dent, and of course Heath Ledger as the Joker.

The Dark Knight starts off with a bank robbery and the Joker carrying out one of his master plans. From the beginning of the movie the crowd fell in love with the Jokers character.
As the movie progress Batman realizes that the Joker is not a common criminal, he is sick twisted, but brilliant criminal “who just wanted to watch the world burn”.
The Joker has as plan to take over Gotham city, with his twisted games he is trying to reveal the dark side of the people of Gotham. Batman and police commissioner Gordon try to bring the city of Gotham back to prosperity.
The Jokers plans of taking over the city goes into effect when the mob higher him to kill Batman and let the mob take the city back over. The Joker leads them to believe that when he kills Batman he will just go away, but this could not be farther from the truth.
Finally the Joker and Batman meet while the Joker is threatening to kill the women he loves, which nobody knows about. The Jokers performance in this scene takes you over and you become consumed with his character, and in a way want him to win.
The Joker and Batman don’t meet again face to face till the Joker is captured by the police. While the Joker is in the integration room Batman is hiding in the back ground. This scene is very intense they are face to face again and Batman is trying to find out why the Joker is trying to destroy the city.
As the movie concludes the Jokers’ master plan is foiled by Batman and the people of Gotham are safe. The Joker is arrested and put in prison. Threw all this the joker corrupted the white knight Harvey Dent and almost turned Gotham into hell.
As the movie ends Batman becomes more than hero he becomes a leader a ghost a Dark Knight.
